The number one question we get is,
Will I turn orange?
When used as recommended, Norvell’s professional and retail sunless tanning products are formulated for natural color development.
High pH levels in the skin can sometimes give individuals an undesirable, ‘fake’ non-natural looking sunless color. Sunless application on skin that is out of balance due to high pH levels sometimes results in what many people refer to as an ‘orange’ coloring. To prevent this, there are a few things you can do: • Do not use bar soaps before your sunless session. A properly pH balanced body wash will not elevate pH levels on the skin, and result in natural color. • We also offer products formulated to lower the pH levels of the skin giving a more golden brown color, and maximizing your sunless results. So ask one of our staff members about these products if you are concerned about a high pH level of your skin. • Do not over-apply sunless products. In general, the darker your natural skin tone, the higher concentration of DHA (sunless product) you can apply to the skin and still maintain natural color. In general one professional spray tan every 7-10 days will allow the prior spray tan to fully come off before applying more.
How long will my spray tan last?
Everyone's skin is different and has a different exfoliation process so longevity may vary, but in general spray tans last 5-7 days. Avoiding salt water and chlorine will help increase your spray tans life span as well as well as following a good skin care regimen!
Exfoliating prior to a sunless tan will help it last longer as well as, sunless tan-extending products like Angel, Hempz, or even a moisturizer with additional sunless color will help greatly extend the length and luster of your tan. Moisturizing skin will help slow down the skins exfoliation process.
